Here’s where leftist America stands as the nation celebrated a festive Fourth of July after battling Covid-19 for the past 18 months.

The New York Times published a “news” story by Sarah Maslin Nir on Sunday headlined, “On July Fourth, Stars and Stripes and Division.” On the web it was entitled, “A Fourth of July Symbol of Unity That May No Longer Unite.”

The symbol of the writer’s ire was The American Flag.

“What was once a unifying symbol – there is a star on it for each state, after all – is now alienating to some, its stripes now fault lines between people who kneel while ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ plays and those for whom not pledging allegiance is an affront,” Nir wrote.

This is the second time in as many months that the Times has sent a reporter to Suffolk County, Long Island — more than likely ultimately heading to the liberal Hamptons — to denigrate Old Glory.

Last month I wrote about Times editorial board member Mara Gay telling MSNBC that she was “really disturbed” to see flags bashing President Joe Biden, supporting former President Donald Trump “and some cases, just dozens of American flags,” flying from pick-up trucks during a weekend trip out to the East End.

Just last week in Sea Cliff, Long Island a vendor at a locally sourced farm pop up market was asked to stop selling his wooden painted flags, because it upset some patrons.

So here we are in 2021. If you wear a mask, then you are liberal. If you are triggered by Old Glory, then you are liberal, and the New York Times will back you up on that.
