As the NFL moves closer to the Super Bowl LII, Commissioner Rodger Goodell is continuing to lose the focus of his fan base.
A full 5.8 million fans for each of the four NFL divisional playoff games last weekend were lost, according to statistics released on this week by Nielsen. The absent viewers represent 16% drop off from last year’s TV ratings for the same divisional games. That means that the lost fan base is accelerating since the regular season losses were 9.7% in viewership.
This Championship Sunday features three teams with little nation following and no marquee players with the exception being the New England Patriots.
So while Goodell and his cohorts like to say its the best Sunday of football of the year coming up, it appears the TV ratings will be off quite a bit for the games when compared to last year.
