President Trump’s war-time address

President Trump is now a war-time leader. Our enemy is the coronavirus.

Trump addressed the nation Wednesday night and laid out a plan to combat this deadly virus.  “History has proven time and time again, Americans always rise to the challenge and overcome adversity,” Trump said after suspending all travel from Europe except Britain for 30 days.

The President called for unity and bipartisanship in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic as the World Health Organization finally called this outbreak a pandemic, which now frees up UN money to combat the outbreak.

As I told my readers last month this outbreak would have devastating events for the global economies before it ran its course over the next 6 months.

Wall Street, while telling staff to work from home, is scaring Main Street more than the virus as it sells off thousands of points each trading session fearing a recession.

We are seeing large scale events canceled. St. Patrick’s Day will be just another day in Ireland and the US. Sports will be played with no audiences.

College basketball, major league baseball and the Olympics may be audience-free because of the Covid-19 outbreak, except for the NBA, which has taken the next step by suspending its season indefinitely.

Trust me, we will get over this individually and as a nation. It will take a few months to accept this new normal but as the President said, “Americans always rise to the challenge and overcome adversity.”
