You really can’t make this up. There is another “woke” personality about to go broke.
Chrissy Teigen, whose claim to fame, I believe, is that she married singer John Legend, has been cancelled herself for cyberbullying model Courtney Stodden when both of them were teenagers.
For some reason Teigen — who was a staunch anti-Trumper — had a cookware line called “Cravings by Chrissy” that sold pots and pans in high-end stores. Due to the latest revelations by Stodden many outlets including Macy’s and Bloomingdales have stopped selling her wares due to the harassment charges.
Teigen allegedly cyberbullied Stodden many years ago telling her in private messages that she should “kill herself” Stodden revealed In a recent interview. Teigen also tweeted that “my Friday fantasy: you. Dirt nap” and “go. To sleep. forever.”
Teigen’s social media battles were not limited to Stodden, she was blocked by former President Donald Trump who accused Legend and his “filthy mouthed wife” of “taking the praise” for the work his administration had done to improve the criminal justice system.
The reason I bring this to your attention is that no matter how “woke” any one person believes they are, this new cancel culture will come after them. It is the strangest movement I have ever witnessed.
No matter that this all occurred more than a decade ago, we have seen others — more notable in their careers — lose face over something they wrote or said when they were teenagers.
Cancel culture — like revisionist history — cannot correct past wrongs since it has not context. It can only lead to more confusion since it mixes different timelines.
So Teigen’s pots and pans get thrown out with the bath water, I’ll be OK and you should too. It really means nothing unless you read TMZ or Page Six.
