Oscar audience, Census data re-enforces ‘Get Woke, Go Broke’

While the 2020 election had a different outcome — for plentiful of other reasons — Americans are taking their votes seriously now and turning away from woke and liberal ideas.

On Sunday night The Oscar’s telecast managed to draw only 9.8 million viewers — the smallest audience ever for the woken film industry. The paltry viewer count was 13.75 million fewer than watched last year and represents a decline of 58.3 percent.

There are many podcasts, including the Joe Rogan Experience, which get bigger audiences than Tinseltown’s annual back-slapping broadcast now.

American are not only voting with their eyeballs, they are opting out with their feet. On Monday the Census Bureau released preliminary data from its 2020 tally. It showed that Democratic-controlled states lost seats in Congress, while Republican-controlled states picked up new districts.

Texas will gain two House seats and Florida will add one, while California, New York, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia will each lose one seat. Also gaining seats are Colorado, Montana, Oregon and North Carolina.

The winning states gaining seats are mostly those won by former President Donald Trump in 2020, while the states that largely voted for President Joe Biden are the ones losing seats. Remember there’s billions in federal aid tied to the number of House seats a state has.

One last voting measure many Americas are taking up is the power of the purse. After Major League Baseball removed the All-Star game from Atlanta over the new Georgia voting laws were passed, many corporations including Cocoa-Cola issued strong statements condemning the new measures.

Well fast-forward a few weeks. Cocoa-Cola had “to ask for a continuing dialog” on the subject as sales of its sugar water plummeted and MLB TV ratings fell.

Many Americans are saying in many different ways they believe in the phrase, “Get Woke, Go Broke.”
