New York City Mayor went on the offensive — and I mean what he said too — over the weekend.
Adams attending a pro-abortion rally slammed the pro-life movement as “radical” on Saturday and pledged that he would “fight” to ensure there are “no” limitations on abortion.
“Abortion is health care. It’s that simple. And New York City won’t let a group of radical extremists take away health care or any human right without a fight,” Adams tweeted Saturday using the hashtag “BansOffOurBodies.”
The Mayor went further in his views by adding, “”No I do not,” he said when asked at the “Bans Off Our Bodies” demonstration in New York City whether there should be any limitations on abortion.
“I think women should have the right to choose their bodies,” Adams replied when asked again about abortions up until the day of birth. “Men should not have that right to choose how a woman should treat their body.”
The progressive movement is doubling down on the possibilities that Roe v. Wade may be struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court in the next moth or so. If that happens the right to an abortion would return to the states to make their own law on the subject.
There is no concern in New York when it comes to banning abortions given the laws that have recently passed. However, why are liberal Democrats setting no limits. Medical people have shown that a baby can survive after just 21 weeks gestation, so why wish to expand the abortion right out to the 40th week as Adams said?
I believe a majority of Americans would consider Adams’ extension to just before birth abortions as “radical extremism” with many polls suggesting a 15-week limit is far more humane for most people.
Lastly, if you call yourself pro-choice, then why are there no alternatives to abortion — like adoption or providing funding for keeping the child — part of the pro-choice funding mechanisms.
No, they will provide compensation for people to travel to New York for an abortion, but not provide information for other choices.
I also find it interesting that Adams used the hashtag “BansOffOurBodies,” yet he still has vaccine mandates barring city workers from their jobs if they are unvaccinated. How do you reconcile those two views?
