The fate of Roe v. Wade may be decided this week

The Supreme Court may rule this week on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which could mean that the high court could overrule Roe v. Wade and push abortion access back to the states.

Many Democratically-controlled states have enacted draconian abortion laws that will be triggered should the high court throw out Roe v. Wade. Some of these new laws go much further than the current law.

New York, for example, will allow abortions up to and including the day of delivery. Other states are looking at allowing that decision to be postpartum, which I feel is murder. New York will also offer services and monetary support to any woman in the US who wants to come here for the procedure.

While I believe in “My Body, My Choice,” even through it was not extended to me when it came to CoVid-19 vaccinations, these limitless extensions on the decision to abort are too much.

Say what you will about the questionable constitutionality of Roe v. Wade, I feel it strikes the proper balance for all concerned. Congress should pass a law, which would then make it the law of the land and give access to care to every woman who wants it.

However, there have been scores of Congressional sessions since Roe v. Wade was ruled upon and none have even broached the topic of abortion. So I do not believe they will touch the issue now.
