Biden’s ATF nom gunning for wide rifle ban

It appears President Biden’s pick to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, David Chipman, wants to collect unemployment if picked since he is looking to ban tens of millions of firearms.

Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) tried to nail down Chipman of his definition of an assault weapon or an assault rifle.

Chipman, at his confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, said the ATF defined an assault weapon as “any semi-automatic rifle capable of accepting a detachable magazine above the caliber of .22, which would include a .223, which is, you know, largely the AR-15 round.”

Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said afterwards “That would be almost every modern sporting rifle in America.” and added, “We’re not taking about millions of firearms, we’re talking about tens of millions of firearms that Joe Biden’s ATF nominee wants to outlaw and confiscate.”

“He couldn’t answer it,” Cotton told Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” Wednesday night. “The reason he can’t answer it is, there is no such thing as an assault weapon. It’s a term that’s made up by liberal lawyers and pollsters in Washington who are trying to scare Americans into acquiescing to gun confiscation.”

Let’s not forget the Biden administration also want to ban menthol cigarettes, which would also reduce Chipman’s workload.
