So all state charges were dropped against Jussie Smollett for staging his alleged attack.

I believe that opens the door for federal charges of lying to the FBI  against Smollett, but we will have to wait on those.

Illinois State Attorney Kim Foxx is being pilloried by Chicago and state police over dropping the charges. Foxx is a very close friend to former Michelle Obama chief of staff Tina Tchen.

Tchen is also a childhood friend to Amy Ruhl, who is Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s wife. So Emanuel’s shock over the announcement of the dropping of the charges doesn’t really ring true to me.

Although Foxx allegedly recused herself from the case, there are emails suggesting she pulled some strings with the state attorney’s office to shut down the investigations.

The Chicago Tribune published a string of texts and emails between Foxx and Tchen showing there was collusion between them to get Smollett off the hook and how one of the Obamas reached out to Foxx directly to express gratitude for her handling of the case.

So all 16 counts brought by the grand jury were dismissed Tuesday. However in a Feb. 21 drop we were told: What will happen if Smollett’s phone records were released.

Well it looks like Smollett made many calls to Michelle Obama and her staff and perhaps Sens. Kamala Harris and Cory Booker. It just so happens that Harris and Booker were co-sponsors of the anti-lynching measure in the Senate, which passed a day after Smollett was found with a noose around his neck at 2AM in Chicago.

Nothing should surprise you about what happens in Chicagoland.
