The CIA whistleblower on President Trump’s telephone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is former White House staffer who was moved to Justice Department because of alleged intelligence gathering violations.
Ezra Cohen-Watnick the former national security aide to Trump — who was pushed out of the White House by H.R. McMaster — was then hired at Trump’s insistence to be former Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s national security adviser in April 2018.
Cohen-Watnick, 33, was brought into the White House by Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn. Cohen-Watnick was allegedly the eyes and ears inside the Trump White House coming out of the DIA with Flynn, which ran afoul of McMaster Trump’s first National Security Advisor.
Cohen-Watnick is believed to have ties to Ukrainian operatives in arms and energy industries.
If true, this really surprises me.
From everything I have previously read. he was supposed to be a straight up guy.

BTW, I never saw it reported anywhere that Cohen-Watnick was CIA. It is being widely reported (not necessarily by outlets I trust) that the whistleblower is CIA.

Just read an article by Sundance at Conservative Treehouse who thinks Cohen-Watnick’s replacement at the WH – Michael Barry – checks all the boxes as a CIA operative who replaced Cohen-Watnick and then returned to CIA in 2018 after being removed from his position by John Bolton.
