Cuomo plans to send NYC diners to the manger

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said Monday that if hospitalizations continue to rise he threaten to close down in-door dining in New York City and cut other regions to 25% capacity.

Cuomo speaking with CDC’s infectious disease chief Dr. Anthony Fauci at his press conference seem to be talking out of both sides of his month.

On the one hand Cuomo complained — once again — about the rising Covid-19 cases due to “living-room spread” and then citing Fauci’s indict of opening the schools and closing the bars and restaurants. Cuomo did not cite any of “data” or “science” from testing or contact tracing to justify the move to close the bars or restaurants. Cuomo is using hospitalizations as the new metric for the shutdown.

The move to shut down NYC could come as early as Friday, while allowing the weekend for these troubled businesses to get ready for the measure.

As late as last Friday Cuomo said that in-door dining did not seem to be a cause for concern as much as the “living-room spread”. However the governor cited CDC’s new guidance released on Friday as the reason for the shift in policy.

Just as the Christmas season is gearing up for many of these struggling businesses, Cuomo will toss customers into ramshackled  outdoor structures, which ironically many appear to resemble a manger.

Despite the story above here’s an item to put a smile on your face.

Goya Foods CEO Bob Unanue told an interviewer on Monday that his company has given Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez the “Employee of the Month” award because her call for a boycott caused sales to soar.

The call for the boycott came after Unanue visited the White House and said “We’re all truly blessed at the same time to have a leader like President Trump, who is a builder.”

“She was actually our Employee of the Month; I don’t know if you know about this, but when she boycotted us, our sales actually increased 1,000%. So we gave her an honorary — we never were able to hand it to her but she got Employee of the Month for bringing attention to GOYA and our adobo. Actually our sales of adobo did very well after she said ‘Make your own Adobo,’” Unanue told host Michael Berry.
