Trump, Gingrich eyeing new ‘Contract with America’ for ’22 and ’24

Donald Trump is said to be teaming up with Newt Gingrich on a new MAGA effort for the Republican Party, using the successful 1994 Republican campaign “Contract with America” as his framework.

The plan is another signal that Trump is prepping the Republican Party toward a more America-centric platform with an eye on the 2022 midterms and the 2024 presidential election.

Politico reported that the former President “has begun crafting a policy agenda outlining a MAGA doctrine for the party,” adding that “his template is the 1994 ‘Contract with America.’”

Trump has had sit down meetings with former House Speaker Gingrich, his former chief of staff Mark Meadows and Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to begin drawing up the new contract based on America first principles.

In 1994 Gingrich’s “Contract with America” outlined ten government reform bills Republicans planned to introduce in Congress and it propelled the party to a pickup of 52 House seats and 9 seats in the Senate.

It was the first time Republicans had control of the House in forty years.

This new policy of Trump and Gingrich would put America first again and undo President Biden’s trade and immigration policies along with cutting foreign spending that is called “infrastructure spending” under the current administration. It will also seek another middle class tax cut.

This new initiative should be unveiled in the late summer or early fall.
