Gov. Andrew Cuomo was true to his narcissistic behavior on Tuesday as the Groper-in-Chief took an extended victory lap before announcing his resignation.
Cuomo nearly separated his shoulder with all the pats on the back he gave himself.
I get that he faces both civil and possible criminal charges after state Attorney General Letitia James’ issued her report, but to use this opportunity to bolster one’s self-worth is classic Cuomo.
So now New Yorkers will finally get to meet Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul as she becomes the first woman governor of the state.
She is a a self-described “independent Democrat,” who served in Congress and comes from the Buffalo area. While serving as Cuomo’s veep Hochul had very few opportunities to shine. Cuomo never even mentioned her once in his now infamous Covid-19 tome published last year.
So on Aug.24 Cuomo will join the ranks of former disgraced NY Democrats. He will be welcomed to the club by ex-Governor Eliot Spitzer, former Congressman Anthony Weiner, former state Assembly speaker Sheldon Silver and ex-state attorney general Eric Schneiderman to name just a few.
Lastly, this pure conjecture on my part, but I believe that in exchange for his resignation Cuomo will not face any criminal charges, he will be able to keep his pension and quite possibly have the state pay his lawyer fees. Disbarment could still be on the table however.
And your conjecture was correct Mike!
