In a newly released study Wednesday the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that natural immunity and a jab resulted in better outcomes against the delta variant than vaccines alone.

Although you will be hard pressed to find media reports on this study.

The study looked at four categories of people — unvaccinated and vaccinated who survived a previous COVID-19 infection, and unvaccinated and vaccinated who had never been infected — in California and New York between May and November 2021.

The highest infection rates were among those who had neither been vaccinated or previously infected. The most protection against infection and hospitalization was in those who had both been vaccinated and survived an earlier bout with the virus.

The study did not say whether having immunity and being unvaccinated had better outcomes than being vaccinated and having no immunity, which I find suspicious.

The answer to that question could provide solid proof of how effective the vaccine is over natural immunity. Chances are that natural immunity could be the game changer.

In a media call with reporters on Wednesday, the Dr. Benjamin Silk, the epidemiologist who co-authored the study, reiterated the Biden administration line of pushing vaccinations.

Earlier this week an article was publish by UCLA Medical School exploring the possibility that the emergence of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 may mark the end of the pandemic phase of the disease and ushering in the beginning of what is called an endemic phase.

The endemic phase cited in the article is akin to yearly flu variant. Yes it can kill the vulnerable, but most will have mild symptoms.
