The why behind WHO not calling CoVid-19 a pandemic

Why has the World Health Organization not declared the coronavirus a pandemic yet?

The outbreak has now reached more than 76 countries with 93,000+ confirmed cases and 3,100 deaths. The latest mortality rate has been increased to 3.4 percent of those infected.

I don’t claim to be a prophet or clairvoyant by any stretch of the imagination, but I’ll wager a bet that if WHO does call it a pandemic it will do so after July, 15, 2020.

How do I know?

In June of 2017 the World Bank issued specialized bonds that would be used to fund the Pandemic Emergency Financing Facility (PEF) in the event of an officially-recognized pandemic by WHO.

Well those bonds mature on July 15, 2020 with the buyers redeeming the paper for full repayment plus interest. If WHO calls a pandemic before that date, those bondholders would take significant losses on their investment.

Pretty easy math by my calculation.
