The biggest story over the weekend was not former President Donald Trump preparing for his indictment or which teams were going to the NCAA men’s basketball final. No those were minor stories compared to what Bud Light pulled off.
The beer company announced over the weekend that trans TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney will be its latest spokesperson in a pair of videos, sparking many to believe it was an April Fools joke.
“Happy March Madness!! Just found out this had to do with sports and not just saying it’s a crazy month! In celebration of this sports thing @budlight is giving you the chance to win $15,000! Share a video with #EasyCarryContest for a chance to win!! Good luck! #budlightpartner,” Mulvaney wrote on Instagram.
I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when the woke Bud Light marketing team brought this promotion to the CEO. I am sure the executive felt like, “How do I say no to this campaign and keep my job.”
Given Bud Light’s sales demographics, how could he think this would go over well with its customers?
As part of the promotion Bud Light is distributing cans with Mulvaney’s face on it celebrating the “365 Days of Girlhood” milestone the TikTok star recently reached.
I would suggest you go out and get it, since it will mark the downfall of the brand for many of its customers.
This may be the equal to “New Coke” in advertising circles.
Had a hoot at the Little Neck event Saturday. The Nassau republicans put on quite a show. Working in the house had me in bed 9/930. See you for dinner tomorrow
