US Senate fails to help our smallest victims — newborn abortion survivors

While abortion is a divisive topic for the country, the US Senate has taken the whole argument to an absurd level by failing to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.

This bill was in no way limiting a women’s right to choose or forcing to put her health in risk. No the bill stood for the rights of an infant that somehow survived a horrific botched abortion.

This bill sponsored by Senator Ben Sasse (R., Neb.) and cosponsored by 49 other Republican senators — needed 60 votes to overcome the legislative filibuster.

What speaks volumes on the impact of the 2020 presidential race is that all six of the Democratic senators currently running for the party nomination voted against the bill: Cory Booker (N.J.), Sherrod Brown (Ohio), Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Kamala Harris (Calif.), Amy Klobuchar (Minn.), and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), along with Independent Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

Yesterday — I believe — this act that the bill sought to legislate was called murder. since most infants in this condition are terminated medically. A baby living outside the mother’s womb cannot under any definition be aborted. This is barbaric and shows that all life is not equal.

The bill was somewhat a response to the draconian laws passed recently in New York and Virginia where a termination can occur outside the womb.

“My colleagues across the aisle are debating a bill that’s not in front of us. They are talking about health care for women, which is abortion,” said Joni Ernst (R., Iowa). “This bill does not address abortion. . . . What this bill does is address the health care of a baby that is born alive after a botched abortion. We’re not talking about abortion, folks. We’re talking about the life of a child that is born, according to the National Review,”

“I urge my colleagues to picture a baby that’s already been born, that’s outside the womb gasping for air,” Sasse added. “That’s the only thing that today’s vote is actually about. We’re talking about babies that have already been born. Nothing in this bill touches abortion access.”

Good God this needs to be addressed. How can the Democrats reconcile that illegal alien children at the southern border are automatically bestowed rights, but an US new-born “gasping for air” does not have those rights?

What kind of society does not take care of its weakest?

  1. Thanks for putting this down in Black & White, Michael!!! Murder is Murder…is it not?!!!! When will we start killing older people like me who, seemingly, are contributing “nothing” to the Society at large?!!! Good question, right?!!! 😉
