Why do you suppose the media over the last two months or so have — quite suddenly — began to explore the UFO phenomenon?

We see the New York Times at the end of May coming out with a story of multiple Navy pilots seeing UFOs off the east coast of the US during training exercises in 2014-2015.

Netflix put up this month the “Bob Lazar, Area 51 and Flying Saucers” documentary  about Lazar’s work at a secret government installation in the Nevada desert where he says he worked on captured alien craft attempting to discover how they worked.

The New York Post is running a multi-part web series of interviews with Nick Pope, who ran a secret UFO office for the British government.

And there are countless other less known media outfits breaking new ground in UFO research. many recently uncovering information that has been locked away for decades.

Richard Dolan — a highly respected UFO researcher with many books published on the topic of government suppression of UFO information as well as work called “After Disclosure” that lays out the pitfalls of disclosure — says the reason for this happening now is technology is moving so quickly it’s just a matter of time before this information reaches the masses.

Dolan, a former academic, has broken important UFO information this month as well. It’s what he calls “The UFO Leak of the Century.”

The document released to him and others contains fifteen pages of notes by Dr. Eric Davis following his 2002 meeting with retired Vice Admiral Thomas R. Wilson concerning Wilson’s failed attempt to gain access to deeply secret and mostly privatized black-budget programs to reverse-engineer alien technology.

Technology, in the words of the notes, “not made by man – not by human hands,” Dolan reports.

Well I have a slightly different take on all this “disclosure,” of course.

What preceded the release of all this data?

The non-event of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report finding no charges could be brought against President Trump for collusion with the Russians or obstruction of justice.

So now we have the Trump Administration on the offensive with a treasure trove of crimes being perpetrated by the Obama Administration against his campaign and others that may soon come to light, such as SpyGate and FISAGate to name just two.

Could all this quasi-disclosure be used as a smokescreen to draw people’s attention away from the actions in Washington DC?

Chances are the release of all this information is not part of the White House’s transparency based on the president’s only comments on the subject.

Trump told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos last week that he was briefed on the Navy pilots story before it ran in the New York Times and he did not think much of it.

“I want them to think whatever they think,” Trump said of the Navy pilots. “I did have one very brief meeting on it. But people are saying they’re seeing UFOs. Do I believe it? Not particularly,” Trump told Stephanopoulos.

So who benefits from this information being leaked to the public and why now after more than 60 years of silence?

Let’s just say this. If only a fraction of what I believe will be released in the next 6 months concerning crimes committed by the Obama White House against Trump and other Americans, then these background players will need to have a craft land on the White House lawn to distract most Americans.
