Jeffrey Epstein’s suicide  at the Metropolitan Correction Center Friday night was reportedly the first self-death at the federal prison since it opened in 1975.

Attorney General William Barr issued the following statement.

How livid can Barr be? The Federal Bureau of Prisons, which is part of the Justice Department, seem to botch Epstein’s incarceration from the beginning.

The convicted sex trafficker was placed in a cell with a former cop who killed and buried 4 people in his backyard. The other convict was found with a cellphone just prior to a choking incident against Epstein.

Barr should have his DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, who has plenty on his plate already, have his investigators at the prison already asking questions, taking statements and gathering footage before a freak fire takes out any evidence.

How does an inmate under a suicide watch have anything in his prison cell to hang himself? And if Epstein was not under suicide watch, then when was that order changed and by whom?

What I don’t want to hear, but I am awaiting the news to break is that the CCTV system was on the blink last night and we have no footage.

Americans also need to hear a timeline of the events. It appears the alleged hanging took place late Friday night and yet an FDNY ambulance was called after 6AM Saturday morning. How does a high-profile prisoner like Epstein have a 6-hour window when no one is checking on the subject?

Two sources have told me, but I am unable to confirm at this time, that there was scheduled maintenance being done near Epstein’s cell and that the usual overnight guards were reassigned Friday evening. Again I have not confirmed this.

Let’s face it, this should not have been able to occur, and yet it did.
