Ghislaine Maxwell may get bailed out

Some legal eagles are saying there is a good chance Jeffery Epstein’s alleged groomer Ghislaine Maxwell may get bail at her arraignment on Tuesday.

While prosecutors have asked that she be detained, some former federal lawyers see a path for her to get bailed out because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since Maxwell did not flee the country after the arrest and death of Epstein, these lawyers suggest, it may play a role in Manhattan federal court Judge Alison Nathan’s decision on the matter.

“All bail arguments look a little bit different now given COVID. That’s definitely in her favor,” former federal prosecutor Jaimie Nawaday told The New York Post.. “More and more there is a push toward home confinement, especially holding people pretrial, when you still have the presumption of innocence.”

Nawaday formerly worked as a prosecutor in the Southern District of New York where Maxwell is being charged.
