Here’s where the mainstream media stand today.

Looking at CNN’s and New York Times’ homepages Wednesday morning the only story on both sites concerning a politician’s son is that Eric Trump needs to testify in a New York case brought by the Democratic State Attorney General, Letitia James.

Both organizations are leading their political coverage with President Trump not going for a peaceful transfer after the election. This stilted take comes because Trump said that he will win the election and therefore there will be no transfer, but a continuation.

How do these “news” outlet not have a follow-up story on the Senate’s panel report on Joe Biden’s son Hunter and his outlandish actions in Ukraine, Russia and China?

These “news” takes however do provide Google, Facebook, Twitter and other left-leaning tech companies with the fodder to push down searches for real news of the day.

This brings up the Department of Justice’s proposed legislation reforms on Tuesday to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act to Congress to prevent online censorship.

“For too long Section 230 has provided a shield for online platforms to operate with impunity,” said Attorney General William Barr. “Ensuring that the internet is a safe, but also vibrant, open and competitive environment is vitally important to America. We therefore urge Congress to make these necessary reforms to Section 230 and begin to hold online platforms accountable both when they unlawfully censor speech and when they knowingly facilitate criminal activity online.”

For years, but more so recently, these online ventures have silenced conservative voices — including yours truly on Twitter — while claiming they are just a platform, which cannot be sued for content posted on their platforms.

If you censor voices then you are no longer a neutral platform, but you are a publisher, which means you can be subject to lawsuits.

The biases run deep on the web, but I’ll probably be labeled a conspiracy theorist.
