The real turkeys of New York: Cuomo, de Blasio

Home for the holidays is not a endearing term being used by many New Yorkers this year.

The Democratic leadership of the New York — Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio — appear ready to shut down the city again just in time for Thanksgiving.

The disastrous duo have closed city public schools on Thursday and plan to cancel restaurants and bars from having limited indoor dining next week right before the holiday due to an alleged spike in new Covid-19 cases.

During a contentious press conference on Wednesday where Cuomo called reporters names for questioning his flip-flopping Covid-19 policies, the governor called on New Yorkers “not to be turkeys” when it comes to Thanksgiving. He admitted that it would be hard to enforce his dictate of 10 people or less around the holiday table.

To understand how horrible 2020 is to New Yorkers just look at the most iconic symbol of the holiday season — the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center. To say it looks like a Charlie Brown tree does not begin to describe the tree.

As the famous line in the holiday movie “Miracle On 34th Street” goes this year, No Virginia there is no Santa Claus in 2020. As a matter of fact Macy’s will probably have plywood on it’s Christmas windows with no parade on Thanksgiving.

Home for the holidays in 2020 really means home alone.
