Cuomo’s delusional final act

Midnight marked a new beginning in Albany as Gov. Kathy Hochul was sworn in as the 57th governor of New York — making history as the first woman to lead the state.

This followed the Monday night resignation letter for ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The letter addressed to Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and state Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins read: “I hereby tender my resignation for the office of Governor of the State of New York. This resignation will be effective at 12:00 a.m., August 24, 2021. It has been my pleasure to serve with you both.”

Of course Cuomo could not go gently into the night. He had to give a prerecorded “farewell” speech ealier in the day where he may have separated his other shoulder from all the additional backslapping he gave himself, yet again.

This delusional politician could not even offer apologies to his victims or the people of New York because he most certainly faces civil and possible criminal charges for his many transgressions while being chief executive.

Let’s end this chapter with a great meme circulating on the web. A smirking Cuomo is pictured with the words: “Gov. Cuomo: Killing Grannies and smacking fannies.”

That’s a true epitaph for his whole political career.
