NYC Thanksgiving 2021: Break heads, not bread

Well it was some night Wednesday as many New Yorkers were preparing for Thanksgiving.

Two NYPD officers were shot in The Bronx responding to a call about a man with a gun. Within seconds of arrival the officers confronted the gunman and a shootout ensued.

In Brooklyn a cop was hit by a car after pulling over two teenagers in Canarsie.

Put these blotter entries together with the horrific daily subway beatings and muggings and there you have it: Thanksgiving Eve 2021.

However earlier in the day Mayor Bill de Blasio and NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea took selfies in front of the Baby Yoda balloon in Central Park and told people there have been no “credible and specific threats,” for the parade.

Well I beg to differ with them.

What about the gauntlet the parade goers have to endure just to get to Macy’s?

The old adage of take care of the big stuff and the small stuff takes care of itself does not work in this case. Three officers injured is big stuff.

I would like to offer my readers and friends a healthy and happy Thanksgiving.
