How the left can never get it right

Leftist liberal commentators on cable TV are all rubbing their hands and ruminating over the midterm elections already.

The talking points include that the impending Republican landslide in the midterm elections would lead to the end of the republic as we know it.

On March 23, The New York Times published an op-ed in which columnist Thomas Edsall asserted that Democrats are making it too easy for Republicans to claim victory and slammed liberals for turning away from the working class while tolerating brazen crime.

He only had it half right. Democrats have turned away from any semblance of the middle class ethos. The left favors big business and social changes that many Americans cannot get behind.

Recently, MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell unabashedly asked a guest whether the war in Ukraine was “at least helping the Democrats” and the White House heading into the midterms.

This is what goes for intelligent political coverage. What can Joe Biden do to stem the bloodletting that will be in Nov. 2022?

The truth is Biden can do nothing because his policies and that on the left have no traction with most Americans. His liberal policies to defund police and fund ultra left wing causes have alienated most middle-class Americans.

The draconian outcome in November has been running very high on the left as if they are trying early on to rally the troops.

Some media figures went a step further, worrying that a Republican win could be the end of America and voting rights, while also in one instance, preemptively accusing them of cheating.

CNN global affairs political analyst Bianna Golodryga discussed a poll conducted by the network in which only 43% of Democrats had “extremely or very high enthusiasm” about voting in the midterms versus 51% of Republicans. Golodryga questioned why voters weren’t more concerned with voting rights and the “threat to democratic values.”

“Given this ongoing threat to democratic values, shouldn’t voters be more determined to go to the polls and why do you think you’re seeing that reluctance and the lack of enthusiasm?,” she asked a panel of guests.

On ABC, “The View” co-host Joy Behar said she would be “very worried” if Republicans take over the House and the Senate following the midterms, claiming that it would spell doom for the U.S.

Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., made a similar comment when he told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes that a Republican sweep in the midterms would end “voting as we know it.”

Remember this is early April, but the rhetoric is already ramping up to the boiling point. Democrats are so scared of being put out of business later this year that they are screaming about the end of the Republic already.

What the left does not understand is that no one wants to live in a Republic that they rule.

Americans do not want criminals getting no bail for their crimes. Americans do not want men beating women in sports. Americans do not want teachers telling their children about life that goes against their religious leanings.

What ultimately comes out in most polls is that Americans do not want Democrats and their far leftist ideas affecting their lives.
