That tells this layman that natural immunity plays a lead role in reducing total amount of cases. we already know that that the vaccines only provide a reduced response to the virus.

I believe the problem lies in the fact that natural immunity will not put money in the drug companies coffers should we change course on treatment.

And there in lies the second definition of insanity: Trusting the pharmaceutical industry.
