House Speaker Nancy Pelosi signed and House Impeachment mangers delivered the two articles to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday.
Pelosi also intimated that there were additional charges that could be filed depending on how the Senate handles this trial.
As I have written in the past there are many Senators on both sides of the aisle who do not want to see a full-blown investigation and testimony into Ukraine.
However, the one person who is not too worried about probing CrowdStrike or its CEO Dmitri Alperovitch is President Trump. The White House is well aware of the fact that there is so much corruption from drugs and arms sales to pay to play and kickbacks in Ukraine involving US politicians that the Senate trial will try to evade the subject.
It has far more involvement than just the sons of Pelosi, Joe Biden, John Kerry and Mitt Romney all being on the dole with Ukraine corporate connections.
It involves Gang of Eight politicians over the years running covert arms deals to Middle Eastern and northern Africa hot spots to foster further unrest and additional arms and missile sales to both sides of the conflicts.
No one in the Senate wants to publicize the covert energy plays that were run out of Burisma, the Ukrainian oil and natural gas firm, which employed Hunter Biden on the board of directors.
So I am looking for a whitewashed hearings beginning next week that will only focus on the quid pro quo question. The Senate after some TV theatrics will vote along party lines to dismiss the charges and then the House members will begin this all anew with further articles.
Because the alternative to the whitewash is something the Senate can’t stomach.
