Stocks up, wages up, unemployment down. How could the Midterms be close?

As a financial writer in real life, I find it odd that the economy is not being ballyhooed by the Republicans more during this Midterm election. Or should I say not mentioned in the media more.

Stocks, as measured by the Dow Jones industrial average, are up 25% since President Trump was elected.

No the only focus the stock markets get nowadays is the recent gyrations in October, which also overshadowed the latest wage data showing a pay raise of more than 3% according toLabor Department data released Wednesday. The wage gains make sense since there is now a decades-low unemployment rate.

An argument could be made that the recent stock pullback story has much to do with a concern that the Democrats could possibly win the House of Representatives.

Certainly Wall Street has a growing concern that Rep. Maxine Waters could take over the leadership of the House Banking Committee. The same Maxine Waters who told protestors to go after Administration members of Republican members of Congress if you see them in a restaurant or the movie theater.

It’s not a question of impeachment, because that will never be in the cards, since the Democrats will never have enough votes to get charges brought and passed onto the Senate. No the real question is what do the Democrats stand for economically?

There’s very little evidence of any economic platform or any platform except being anti-Trump. But no one calls them out on this.

A perfect example of this is in San Francisco, where the Democratic Mayor and city council want to raise real estate and business taxes to stem the tide of growing homeless people defecating in the streets among other quality-of-life issues.

Left-leaning Silicon Valley firms like Google and Amazon among others are squawking over having to pay more taxes. Threatening to move out of the city if they are forced to pony up cash to alleviate a problem they caused by moving in and distorting the cost of housing in the Bay Area.

So where is the left’s economic thought? Clearly tax and spend doesn’t resonate with its biggest boosters — California tech companies.

And I would say it does not sit well with many institutional investors as well.

Pipe bomb investigation is troubling from the get go

The “mail bombs” discovered Wednesday targeting former and present Democratic leaders and media  outlet CNN has all the markings of an intimidation tactic. Now, against whom is the big question?

Judging by the immediate reaction to the event — CNN hosts began excoriating President Trump for his fake news rhetoric as the cause for these actions — without a shred of evidence that said where the packages came from, may shed some light on what the culprit was aiming to accomplish.

Packages were discovered to be sent to former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former CIA Director John Brennan, former Attorney General Eric Holder, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif.and early Thursday morning a similar envelope was discovered in lower Manhattan at the offices of actor Robert De Niro.

The most puzzling of the targets was the  “device” delivered to ex-Obama CIA Director John Brennan’s office at CNN in Midtown Manhattan since Brennan does not even work for CNN, according to his Wikipedia page, but instead serves as a senior national security and intelligence analyst for NBC News and MSNBC, which are located blocks away at 30 Rock.

That said, the biggest question is why was a photo allowed to be taken and distributed to media of the “bomb” intact?

Surely if this was a deadly device then it would have been taken to bomb detonation site to be analyzed and dismantled and not to allow unauthorized personnel to take photos. Also law enforcement has now lost the ability to know who the bomber is through intimate information of the design that only the sender would know. That’s gone since photos are all over the news.

No law enforcement agency including NYPD bomb detectives or FBI agents would allow images released if this was a credible threat.

Surly the NYPD Bomb Squad knew what the were looking at when they arrived on the scene, but needed to take the necessary precautions and follow protocols. It would not look good to pick it up in plain clothes and walk out and throw it in the back of a squad car.

According to a military bomb expert these devices should have had the words A.C.M.E written on them and carried by Wily E. Coyote as he mailed them to Mr. Road Runner.

A former Navy  bomb disposal officer named Tom Sauer said this on Twitter Wednesday:

Proper pipe bombs don’t have wires connected to both ends. That’s dumb.

You can find timers / remote control receivers WAY smaller than whatever that white box is. A proper timer would best be stored inside the pipe, making it fully encapsulated. That thing is just silly looking.

Bottom Line: Whoever made that [pipe bomb] wanted it to be painfully obvious to anyone and everyone that it’s a “bomb.” This is nearly the same as a bundle of road flares wrapped together with an old-timey alarm clock ticking away.

I am very interested to see what the feds find out about the sender of these packages. I am not jumping to the conclusion that this was a ardent Trump supporter. Intimidation works many ways.

The left is taking liberal use of the truth

I am lost on the hysteria being promulgated by the liberal-minded media over everything Trump. It has ramped up so high that they are losing their minds and morals.

With the announcement of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy the left erupted in howls of hatred for Trump and his ability to name a new Justice.

On Twitter CNN’s Jeffery Toobin posted:

Anthony Kennedy is retiring. Abortion will be illegal in twenty states in 18 months.

This coming from a man who seduced his colleague Jeff Greenfield’s daughter and told her she must have an abortion.  Perhaps Toobin wants to make sure his options are open to pressure a young woman into a life-altering decision when its inconvenient to his life.

Rep. Maxine Waters and her fatwa against all Trump cabinet members is beyond borderline treasonous and I pray no one acts in a murderess fashion to placate her orders.

The Democrats who once fought for southern African-Americans to sit at Five and Dime  counters to eat next to whites, are now celebrating that White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and family being turned away from a DC-suburb restaurant over her boss’s policy.

Just to show you how two-faced the left is, women in the Trump administration have been targeted for harassment. Homeland Security chief Kirstjen Nielsen, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and Huckerbee Sanders. So much for being pro-woman, anti-bullying.

Then on Thursday you had the deadly newspaper shooting in the DC suburb, where five people were killed. Almost immediately tweeter exploded with taunts about how this blood was on President Trump’s hands for his fake news proclamations.

Forgetting of course that Rep. Waters rallying cry on Monday. I warned you that may happen.

All this is going on while FBI higher-ups are being grilled by Congress over their own treasonous acts in ruining Trump’s candidacy while covering up Hillary Clinton’s felonious acts.

The liberal outcry in the media is a way of subterfuge  for the pending federal charges to be brought against all the principles of the 2016 Democratic primary and election.

Rep. Devin Nunes tweet shows Rep. Maxine Waters lunatic fringe followers

Who in their right mind would A) listen to Rep Waters’ directive and say she has a good idea and then B) follow-up on it the next day by shadowing one of the more powerful Republicans in Congress?
Someone who could be a danger to others and perhaps himself? I would say that is a good possibility.
And for the Congressman to ask his followers this question: “Anyone know this dude? Kept chasing me around the Capitol with a camera phone today…please RT” shows he felt more than annoyed by the situation.
So Monday was a camera phone, what could Tuesday bring?
The Democratic leadership should do more than ignore Rep. Waters’ remarks, she should be rebuked and censored on the House floor for her stupid actions before a smart phone becomes a more lethal weapon.
EDITED: So this broke 35 minutes after I posted this:
BREAKING: GOP Lawmakers Introduce Censure Measure, Call On Maxine Waters To Resign amid her call for violence against Trump supporters
I say have at it. She deserves it.

Dems new slogan: “When they go out, we go low.”

The left’s black lash against all things Trump is ramping up to a fever pitch.

In the last week we have seen Trump administration officials called out on the street and in their off hours with family by business owners and patrons. A few examples are:

  • Stephen Miller, White House senior advisor called a fascist and heckled by patrons of a Mexican restaurant.
  • Kirstjen Nielsen, Secretary of Homeland Security, booed & heard chants of “shame” while eating at a Mexican restaurant.
  • Sarah Sanders Huckerbee, White House Press Secretary, asked to leave by the owner of The Red Hen restaurant.

You even have mainstream media saying that Miller and Nielsen should not be eating in a Mexican restaurant because of the White House stand on immigration. Are you people serious?

And who better than Maxine Waters (D-CA) speaking at a rally in DC to spur supporters to “If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”

And of course this new tact by the left has received plenty of air time from MSNBC and CNN. This brings me to think that there is a new phrase for the Democratic Party:

“When they go out, we go low.”

This comes about a year after Republican congressmen were gunned down on a baseball field in Arlington, VA. by a disgruntled Bernie Sanders supporter.

So who will take responsibility when some fanatic taking this hostile rhetoric to the next level attempts to kill a Trump administration employee? Not Maxine Waters nor MSNBC nor CNN. No they will then say nothing about their call to arms nor the pushing a hateful agenda.

No they will just all call for more gun control, even though they are the trigger.
