Disgraced FBI ounterintelligence agent Peter Strzok sued the federal government on Tuesday over his firing.

Strzok alleges in his suit that he was fired because of political pressure from President Trump.

“The F.B.I. fired Special Agent Strzok because of his protected political speech in violation of his rights under the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States,” the suit stated. Strzok also alleges his firing also violated his due process rights.

Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page were fired after hundreds of tweets between the two were discovered. The two shared a hatred for Trump as well as an extramarital affair.

Perhaps in response to the suit filing, news released on Tuesday alleged that during this same time Strzok was also having an extramarital affair with an unnamed Washington reporter.

Both affairs were against FBI guidelines and should have resulted in his firing.
