Since Jan. 2017 President Trump has faced five separate impeachment charges ranging from his business ties to Russian collusion and now Ukraine.
While not all Articles of Impeachment have reached the House floor for a vote, the ones that did were defeated by large margins.
On Wednesday the news of the latest Ukrainian phone call whistleblower’s lawyer Mark Zaid tweet soon after the inauguration that that a “coup has started” and that “impeachment will follow ultimately.”
“We should take [Zaid] at his word that this is a coordinated, premeditated plot to overturn the election,” House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy said on the news.
I only mention here that some in Congress such as Rep. Steven Smith of Georgia have deeper questions about Zaid.
To say it’s historic, the amount of adversity this White House has endured from the Democrats, is a wild understatement. No administration has ever faced such opposition on such flimsy evidence.
As I wrote on Wednesday, it appears the House will approve Rep. Adam Schiff’s latest salvo at impeachment. Given the selective leaks a partisan vote could move it to the Senate.
However, I’m not too concerned since this appears to be the “coup” Zaid was suggesting in 2017 and will be dismissed in the Senate.
As I have stated in the past. This is the hill the Democrats are willing to die on.
