Why is it that we no longer hear about herd immunity?

When the vaccination shots were rolling out health officials hoped to get to 70% rate to stem the CoVid-19 pandemic. New York City’s vaxx rate is at 82% for one shot, yet I not heard the word herd.

“If we get to the president’s goal, which I believe we will attain, of getting 70 percent of people getting at least one dose, adults that is, by July 4, there will be enough protection in the community that I really don’t foresee there being the risk of a surge,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci in May.

NYC school’s should be the definition of herd immunity, according the Department of Education’s own numbers.

The DOE said Monday that 91% of the city’s 78,000 teachers had gotten at least one dose of the vaccine and overall the system has an 87% vaxx rate of at least one shot from the total of 130,000 employees.

So why continue with the vaxx mandate beginning Friday or be furloughed as Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Monday night? I’ll venture a wild guess that the vaccine is not the panacea health officials believed it was early on.

That said federal, state and city health officials have no comment on natural immunity from people already being infected. An Israeli found that people who were infected and have the antibodies have a 15 times stronger immunity than those who were just jabbed twice.

The vaccine-dependent people had a seven-fold higher chance of symptomatic infection, and a 6.7-fold higher chance of being hospitalized than the natural immunity cohort.

Why does natural-borne immunity not matter when your career is on the line? Health officials are telling citizens it’s “All Vaxx, No Breaks”.

President Biden, who received a booster shot on Monday, said he believes the US needs to vaccinate 97% of Americans before we can return to “normal” whatever that means in this day and age.

The vaccine is similar to taking an aspirin for a broken leg. It may dull the pain a bit, but will do nothing to mend the bone.

I believe we are going to look back in a few years and become quite irate at the leaders forcing this vaccine into the arms of citizens, while ignoring natural immunity.
