Residents on Martha’s Vineyard celebrated Sunday that they survived the migrant invasion as the 50 wayward travelers were put on a plane and sent to a military base on Cape Cod.

“Now we see, in New York and D.C., they used to beat their chests when Trump was in office, saying they are sanctuary jurisdictions. Then the minute Texas starts busing there they get very bent out of shape about it…these are just the beginning efforts. We got an infrastructure in place now. There is going to be a lot more that’s happening.” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said on Sunday.

Meanwhile Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser was speaking over the weekend about the plight of her sanctuary city.

“We’re not a border town,” Bowser told reporters. “We don’t have an infrastructure to handle this type of and level of immigration to our city. … We’re not Texas.”

The Texas governor has transported 7,900 immigrants to Washington since April and over 2,200 immigrants to New York City since August as part of “Operation Lone Star,” according to data from Texas Gov, Greg Abbott’s office. Recently, Texas added Chicago to the destination list, sending more than 300 immigrants to the city.

In an interesting aside, Vice President Kamala Harris has spent more time on the exclusive island of Martha’s Vineyard than inspecting the southern border invasion.

While Harris was put in charge by President Joe Biden to end illegal immigration, she has refused to visit the border. Instead, she has spent her time in Martha’s Vineyard, an elite island where the rich and famous vacation.

Harris was there a month ago or so for a Democrat National Committee finance event.
