So the House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on Dec. 9 to hear evidence in Trump impeachment inquiry. This is the same day as Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz is expected to release his long-awaited report on FISAgate.
Now of course it is no coincidence that the committee chairman Jerry Nadler scheduled the hearing the same day. It’s meant to take column inches and airtime away from reporting Horowitz’s findings.
I would suggest Attorney General Bill Barr release the IG’s report early so it dominate the Sunday talk shows and gets the needed coverage against advance stories on House Judiciary actions on Monday.
I am curious who will be presenting the impeachment evidence to the House Judiciary committee? Certainly not House Intelligence Committee chair Adam Schiff. Perhaps Daniel Goldman the House Intelligence Committee counsel?
At any rate we should hear what charges polled better. Quid pro quo? Bribery? Obstruction?
As I have said for the last month, these partisan impeachment inquiries will be forwarded to the Senate for trial. It’s the hill the Democrats wish to die on.
AG Barr, let’s get the IG’s report out to see what really transpired during the 2016 presidential election.
