What’s behind Pelosi’s impeachment delay tactic

Why would Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi hold on to the Articles Of Impeachment an not pass them to the Senate as laid out under The Constitution?

Pelosi allegedly said she would be looking for an agreement from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for a fair hearing. Pelosi has no right to delay the hand off to the upper house despite it being dead on arrival.

Having run dishonest impeachment campaigns since January 21, 2017, please excuse me for not taking Pelosi at her word.

Could Pelosi and Democrats in the House and Senate be holding the articles until a diversion is needed?

Under the terms of impeachment in The Constitution the Senate Judiciary Committee, which has jurisdiction over the handling of the articles cannot take up any other matters until a full Senate vote is taken on impeachment.

That would mean the Senate Judiciary Committee could not forward new federal judge nominees to the full Senate for approval. This would also include any Supreme Court candidates should an opening come up for the high court.

You can see the Lindsey Graham the judiciary panel chief is onto this ploy by moving 12 more federal judge nominees to a full Senate vote on Thursday, marking 25 names in the last two days to be approved before the Christmas break.
