Welcome to Occupy Wall Street part two.
There are now more than 500 demonstrators lining up in City Hall Park in New York City forming “Occupy City Hall”.
The protestors said they will stay there until the end of June when New York’s City Council is scheduled to vote on the 2021 fiscal-year budget.
The demonstrators are demanding $1 billion in cuts from the NYPD’s nearly $6 billion budget.
Council Speaker Corey Johnson and seven others have backed the “Defund The Police” movement calling for cuts. Mayor Bill de Blasio and First Deputy Police Commissioner Benjamin Tucker have both said that the figure is too high.
As this illegal occupation continues, shootings and murders are on the rise in the city. The Police Commissioner, Dermot Shea said the criminal justice system is “imploding” as no one is held accountable and “that’s the kindest way to put it,” he told reporters.
As I wrote on Thursday, New York is being held hostage by Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo. Both bemoan the economic hardship hitting the city from Covid-19 shutdown and Black Lives Matter protests and riots, yet neither one is looking to restore law and order to the city.
The Democratic leadership in New York have already decided to cancel the marathon and Christmas Tree Lighting in Rockefeller Center, but have no comment on whether schools will open in September.
The leadership will do anything to insure there are mail-in ballots for the presidential election.
I can certainly be said that the democrats do not love New Yorkers.
For anyone truly watching…..it’s like….DUH!!!! Who elected these “leaders”???
