A bipartisan Senate will exonerate President Trump

So the House Judiciary Committee will pass the Articles of Impeachment for a full House vote next week on Wednesday over the President’s dealing with Ukraine.

Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler set the agenda handed to him from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Intelligence chair Adam Schiff for charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress..

On Thursday Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell stated that if the House passed impeachment charges to the Senate he would move to acquit President Trump, which would clear him of the charges.

As I wrote Thursday, the last thing the Senate — both sides of the aisle — is to have a trial on Ukraine, especially one where the President can call witnesses. The Senate trial would have wide latitude to explore many avenues of US dealings with Ukraine.

This is why both House and Senate members always state that it is the Intelligence community’s determination that it is Russia, Russia, Russia who tried to meddle in the 2016 election.

As we will see the Intelligence community is as guilty as DOJ and FBI in the spying on a President.  Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz and his report could not look at the CIA or DIA. US Attorney John Durham will have much to say on this matter, as I wrote Wednesday.

So while the Senate Judiciary Committee under Lindsay Graham’s leadership is willing to explore illegal spying of Carter Page for working with Russians, McConnell and the rest of the Senate leadership do not want to look to hard into Ukraine.

There are too many senators with ties to Ukraine to have a far-reaching probe that Trump’s legal eagles could uncover be allowed to go forward.

So as the House was a partisan impeachment affair, the Senate will be a bipartisan vindication of the President.
